My name is Susan Sterling. I was born in Panama, but have lived in Louisiana for 32 years. My mother is from the beautiful Costa Rica and my father is from South Dakota. I am blessed with a supportive husband and 3 beautiful children. I have been a school teacher for 8 years and enjoy teaching dance on the side. I am working on my masters in education and have completed a minor in Spanish. Thanks to my mother and grandmother, I speak Spanish fluently and enjoy every minute that I get to express this ability with Spanish friends and family. |

Representing my state in
this pageant has been the works of God opening doors in my life. It
has given me a valuable opportunity to show my pride in my heritage.
Louisiana has an awesome French and Spanish history that shows quality
in cultural art, cultural people, and hospitality. My title has given
me the ability to speak out for my beliefs in "Internet Safety"
for our youth, and it has given me the awesome pride to be a great role
model for Spanish women in my church, workplace, community, and state!
I am super proud to be part of the great pageant line and meet other
women with the same goals as mine.
