My name is Nixida Marie Vega and I am Puerto Rican. Unlike my parents & abuelos, I have lived in the United States all of my life. My father is from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico & my maternal grandparents are from Ponce. I was born in New Britain, Connecticut. I enjoy doing almost anything, especially
when it comes to art. In fact, I aspire to become a successful
actress, with of course
years spent in college & a couple degrees in hand. As of now,
I just worry about dancing, working out, school, work, being active
in my community, spending time "con mi familia," and of
course acting.

As Miss CT Teen Belleza Latina, I know I will meet new friends, create new memories, and have an unbelievable experience that will always stay close to my heart. Excitement, pride, and curiosity arise as I meet other motivated, determined, and driven latinas from different countries. As a Hispanic teenager, representing and being a role model for other young latinas is important to me. It is not only my responsibility, but also an honor. I know that I am an excellent role model who will help lead teenage latinas to believe in themselves, pursue their dreams, achieve their goals, and through all of this, always stay true to themselves. I will use my title to try & reach out to others, through volunteering & speaking to the youth. This is an experience I will never forget, truly a blessing from God. I hope to continue to strive to succeed in what I believe & pursue my deepest desires. Although I know it will be tough to follow my heart, stick to my education, keep up with dancing, & stay on track, I also know I will never give up on myself, and everything and everyone I represent. |
